Higher Heights Partners with Waterbury to support local students Response

Launch of the Career and College Empowerment Program

Dear Friends and Supporters,

On behalf of Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs, Inc., I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to each and every one of you who attended our Press Event this past Saturday. Your presence was a testament to the strong community spirit and shared commitment to empowering our youth in Waterbury.

We were thrilled to share the launch of our groundbreaking career and college program for 8th graders in the city with funding from the Leever Foundation and the Connecticut Community Foundation. This initiative marks a significant step forward in our mission to ensure that every under-represented student in Connecticut has full and equal access to post-secondary education.

A special thank you to our esteemed partners, the Silas Bronson Library and the Waterbury Chapter of the NAACP, for their unwavering support and collaboration. Your dedication to our community's growth and prosperity is invaluable, and we are honored to work alongside you.

We are also deeply appreciative of the Mayor Pernerewski of Waterbury and Kelonda Maull, Executive Director of Waterbury Promise, for their attendance and support. Your presence underscored the importance of our collective efforts to uplift and empower the next generation of leaders in Waterbury.

As we move forward, we are filled with excitement and optimism for what we can achieve together. Our partnership with each of you is crucial as we strive to help the city of Waterbury reach Higher Heights. We are eager to continue this journey, knowing that with your support, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of our students and their families.

Thank you once again for your commitment, your support, and your belief in our vision. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of under-represented college-bound students, equipping them with the resources and encouragement they need to succeed.

With warmest regards,

Dr. Chaka Felder-McEntire
