EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
COLLEGE ACCESS ADVISOR
We're seeking an energetic, mission-driven College Access Advisor to build a college-going culture inside one of our partner urban public high schools. This is a great fit for a recent college graduate, AmeriCorps/City Year alum, or early-career education professional who's energized by fast-paced school environments and wants hands-on experience guiding teenagers through one of the most important transitions of their lives — many of whom will be the first in their families to consider college.
The Advisor delivers college-readiness workshops, coaches students and families through the application and financial aid process, and builds trusted relationships with school staff and college partners. The ideal candidate connects quickly with students and families across lines of race, culture, and class, stays calm and consistent inside a busy school building, and holds students to high expectations while meeting them where they are.
SAT TEST PREP INSTRUCTOR (Contract Position)
Join the Higher Heights College Access Program and help students achieve their college dreams! We're seeking an engaging, culturally responsive SAT Test Prep Instructor to provide high-quality instruction inside one of our partner urban public high schools — equipping students with the academic skills, test-taking strategies, and confidence needed to succeed on the SAT.
This role is well suited to a recent college graduate, early-career educator, or test-prep specialist who thrives in a fast-paced school environment and wants to make a measurable, near-term impact on students' college options. The ideal candidate pairs strong subject-matter expertise in Math and/or Evidence-Based Reading and Writing with patience and high expectations, and is comfortable building rapport with students who may have test anxiety or little prior exposure to standardized testing.
